The image you project will determine the impression you make on men. You cannot, not make an impression on someone. You need to recognize this and control what your impression is and its affect on your love life. You may need to adjust the image you project until you get the right response from the type of men you want to meet. This is a list of the significant things that make up your total appearance.

Smile
The simplest way to look more attractive is to smile.
Body
Your overall body is the hardest area to change. Short of plastic surgery, your build, your height and overall features are fixed, and weight is hard to gain or loose permanently. But unless you are seriously overweight, the way you see yourself and what you do with yourself is probably more important then your actual features. Whether you are satisfied or dissatisfied with your body shows in your actions and attitudes, the way you dress, and your confidence.
Most women are satisfied with their body as a whole, and dissatisfied with one or more parts, like nose, complexion, hair, hips, or their weight. The secret of looking your best is to accentuate your good features and offset or minimize your weaker features. Men are more interested in the whole package, and will likely place a lower or no value on the very thing that worries you the most.
Face
If your makeup is obvious to a man, it is excessive. While many women develop just the right use of cosmetics, others tend to go overboard, and others refuse to wear cosmetics all together. Either they don’t know how to use them, or they refuse to participate in the “commercial exploitation of women.” If you use makeup incorrectly, it will hurt rather than help your appearance.
If you are unfamiliar with the correct use of cosmetics or dissatisfied with your current look, consider getting a professional makeover. Hire a professional makeover artist and not a cosmetic salesperson from the mall or a hairdresser that doesn’t specialize in makeup. They usually don’t have the experience and might be more interested in just selling products.
Get a professional makeover every year or two. An experienced artist can show you what looks best and how to maintain the look. Just don’t let them go overboard. You will probably not spend more then 10 or 15 minutes putting your make up on, so tell them that so they can create a lower maintenance look. Again, the most powerful impact may be to improve your own self-image.
Clothes
The element that has the most impact on your appearance is the clothing you choose to wear. The way you dress also has a significant impact on the way you perceive yourself.
More than any other medium of nonverbal communication, clothing transmits an image, which can and does have a major impact on the way men perceive you. Why does this happen? Because people dress in a certain way in order to fit into their peer group, which has established rules/ norms for their dress.
Hair
If you got it flaunt it. Nice hair is definitely a man magnet. It is one of the easiest things to change and one of the major things that men notice. A good haircut and or color will make a great improvement in your appearance. If your hair is nice enough, it becomes a feature in its self. While few women have nice enough hair to be considered a strong focal point, most women’s hair can be improved on.
Do gentlemen really prefer blonds? Do blonds really have more fun? Yes, but not simply because they are blond. Going blond often reflects an attitude and commitment to do what ever it takes to look good. Women go blond because it is something that they can do to improve their appearance. Going blond is generally more flattering than going darker on most women. It covers gray and can be used subtly as in streaking and highlighting.
Whether it is to brighten up an average head of hair or to cover those streaks of gray, going blond is easier in many cases than going darker. Blonds are often a collection of women that are willing to do what it takes to look their best. Going blond signals a willingness to do what it takes to look and feel good. That’s what men like about blonds: their attitude. But please, no dark roots on bleached or lightened hair.
Women with pretty faces who have really short hair tend to be the most attractive because short hair allows their facial features to stand out. Average faces and less than average faces typically look better with long hair. If you have a particularly pretty face, then you can go with a short haircut. But if you don’t have the face for it, leave it long. With very few exceptions, men prefer long hair.
If your hair is long and heavy and makes your face look long, layering it around your face will help. Sharp facial features can be softened, your overall profile can be enhanced, and even the apparent shape of your face can be changed with the proper hair cut. The way your hair is cut and styled it is an act of sculpturing. It creates an illusion. Your hair is another tool in your arsenal that you can use to emphasize your good features and offset or minimize your weaker features.
Get Proper Advice
Finding a good hairdresser with the proper eye and experience can make a significant improvement in your appearance. It takes years to gain the experience to provide accurate advice, so look for someone who has at least 5 years of full time experience. These people tend to be in demand and gravitate to the more expensive shops, so expect to pay more for their services.
The newest people with least experience tend work for the inexpensive chains. If you are on a budget, find an expensive hairdresser to give you a look that works and that you are happy with. Then go to a less expensive shop for the maintenance. Just have them keep the format and style of the original haircut.
In my opinion, the best hairdressers are gay men. They take pride in their work and think of it as an art form. They stay in the business because it is accepting of their lifestyle, so they tend to have the most experience. Also women tend to seek them out because they want a man’s opinion, so they are presented with even more challenges, which leads to even more experience.
Contact Lenses vs. Glasses
Wearing contacts generally makes you more attractive than wearing glasses. Wearing glasses might make you look more intelligent for a job interview, or to a customer, but men prefer contacts. Plus you can have fun with them. Contacts can enhance or even completely change your eye color. Unless you have a particular reason for wearing glasses, wearing contact lenses are preferable.
Nails and Hands
Forget about growing long nails because you will only impress other women. Most men won’t even notice a nice set of nails, but they will notice clean and well-groomed hands. Only a few men will insist on long nails. Even fewer will like or appreciate a set of claws.
