Dance has come to the forefront in recent years, partly with the help of reality shows like “Dancing with the Stars” and “So You Think You Can Dance”. And for very good reasons! Dancing is fun, entertaining and good exercise and as an added benefit, dance lessons are also a great place to meet single men.
Types of Dance Lessons Where You Can Meet Men
There are many different styles of dancing you can choose from and many places where you can take lessons. If you are not sure what type of dancing you would like to try, see if you can sit in to watch a class or participate in a trial class or two.
While you can meet men while learning pretty much any type of dance, you’ll have a better chance to talk to guys and get to know them if you learn a partner dance like the waltz rather than a solitary dance type like tap, line dancing or hip-hop. Definitely stay away from belly dancing—while it’s a lot of fun, and great for weight loss, you most likely won’t meet any men! Try a Latin dance like salsa, rumba, or cha cha. You can also give ballroom dancing or swing dancing a shot.
You can take classes casually where you pay as you go and drop-in when you feel like taking a class, or you can sign up with a dance school where you would dance once or twice a week for a certain period of time, usually about eight weeks at a time. Some clubs also offer lessons for a nominal fee before they open so that you can learn the basics the dance floor officially opens.
For the best opportunities to meet men, look for singles lessons, and check to make sure that no partner is required. This will give you plenty of chances to meet single men and get to know them. While you are practicing dance moves, there will be lots of time to chat and get to know each other. Where it goes from there is really up to you.
Dancing is a great form of aerobic exercise and is a lot of fun to practice. Being able to dance will also make you a popular partner at weddings and other social occasions, opening even more opportunities to meet men.
