There comes a time when you come to the realization that the places you’ve always gone or the places that “they” tell you to try are just not working as places to meet men. So if you want to meet single men, it’s time to reevaluate, broaden your horizons and step out of your comfort zone. Try these three places you might not have tried before to meet single men.
Take a Class
Find something that you have always been interested in and sign up for a co-ed class. Try your local school board or parks and recreation for classes in languages, dance, sports, art or just about anything else you’re interested in. Sign up for lessons in martial arts or cooking, the opportunities are truly limitless.
Go alone to class. If you appear to be part of a closed group, you are less likely to meet men. Take a class that you are truly interested in; meeting men is a bonus that is more likely to happen when you are not focused on them. Be open and friendly and don’t forget to smile.
Join a Team
You don’t need to be particularly athletic to join a co-ed recreational sports league. Try volleyball, basketball, softball or even bowling. If you are sporty, you might want to try Ultimate Frisbee or football. There are lots of opportunities to get to know your teammates during practice time and games.
You can also get to know players on the opposite team during down times or after game celebrations. You’ll be getting some exercise and meeting men, and you’ll be able to talk about the game.
Volunteer
Support a favorite cause by giving some time. Many charities need help and will be only too happy to have your assistance. Walk dogs or clean cages for the local animal shelter, sort food at a food bank, and so on. You’ll feel great about the work you are doing, and you’ll have the chance to meet people and maybe meet single men who care about the same cause.
The great thing about meeting men in these environments is that you are going to have something in common with them right from the outset. That common ground will give you a place to start a friendship and build from there. And don’t worry if you meet a lot of women as well. Remember that they will have friends who are male as well. The broader your social circles become, the more opportunities you will have to meet more men.
